Marbro ceramic jar lamp, shown without a shade. Shade and bulbs are not included.
The jar and the stand.
The ceramic jar has raised patterning, a pair of phoenix handles and a green verdigris finish, and it sits on a footed wood stand. This is the part of the lamp that makes it worth owning.
The lamp was made by the Marbro Lamp Company, whose original sticker still sits between the two sockets. Marbro assembled lamps in Los Angeles around ceramic bodies imported from abroad; where this particular jar was made isn’t known, and we don’t claim otherwise.

The new sockets, with the original Marbro label between them.
Exactly what was replaced.
The sockets are new. The rest of the electrical parts are original and in working order. Saying exactly that is more useful to you than calling the lamp “rewired”.
We describe the work part by part. A new socket doesn’t mean every fitting is new, and a lamp that works hasn’t necessarily been certified, so we tell you what changed and what didn’t.
Dimensions and what’s included. 39½in to the top of the finial, 10in across at the widest point without a shade, and just over 22lb. The ceramic jar and wood stand are original.
Why the details are in the listing.
We leave the maker’s label on the lamp, and the listing gives its dimensions, materials, condition and exactly what’s included, so you know what you’re buying.
We photographed the Marbro with several shades to show how it can be styled, but it is sold without a shade or bulbs. We say so right next to the photos, so the styling isn’t mistaken for what you get.
